GP2 racer Rigon joins SPEED EuroSeries Grid

Davide Rigon will drive the Tatuus factory chassis in the SPEED EuroSeries races supporting the EuroSport organised FIA ETCC meeting at Imola this weekend.

Davide made his debut in Formula BMW ADAC in 2003, going on to win in Italian Formula Renault, Italian Formula 3 and Formula Azzurra. In 2007 he scored  6 wins, 7 podiums, 4 pole positions and 8 fastest laps  in Euroseries 3000 before racing GT2 in the FIA GT championship for the BMS Scuderia Italia team in 2008, winning the Spa 24 Hours. The same year he ran in the Superleague Formula Championship for the Beijing Guoan Racing Club taking his second title in two years.

With a GP2 drive in 2009 with the Milan-based Team Trident he took part in the final three rounds of the GP2 Asia series, taking a first podium at the in Sepang.  In 2010 Davide won the Superleague Formula championship title with the RSC Anderlecht team before embarking on a GP2 campaign in 2011, curtailled early in the year following a serious accident.
