23 Apr 2012

Proving yet again that the SPEED EuroSeries is the progression path to Le Mans, SPEED EuroSeries racer, Jens Petersen, will drive a Boutsen Ginion Racing LMP2 car in the 80th running of the Le Mans 24 Hours.

The German driver, classified 4th and 5th driving a Team TFT Norma M20CF in the opening rounds of the 2012 SPEED EuroSeries at Le Castellet,  will drive alongside Bastien Brière and Jack Clarke at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps FIA WEC event in preparation for the event.

Jens Petersen: “It was good racing [in the SPEED EuroSeries] after a too long winter break and I enjoyed driving in the series. I really appreciated the warm welco and will stay in touch {for future participation}.”

Oli McCrudden, SPEED Organiser: “Jens is indicative of the quality drivers we have involved in SPEED. Despite a lack of seat-time prior to the Le Castellet event he proved his pedigree and all at SPEED look forward to watching him shine in the LMP2 car. SPEED is the ideal route to Le Mans racing; SPEED racers aim to get to Le Mans and we more drivers the ideal platform on which demonstrate their talents to the top teams in the business.”
